Evil Decepticons

MEGATRON

Autobots wage their battle to destory the evil forces of the Decepticons ...

ASTROTRAIN

Astrotrain
TRIPLE CHANGER
MILITARY TRANSPORT
Creating confusion is Astrotrain's specialty. As a Decepticon Triple Changer he can switch form from robot to locomotive train to space shuttle almost instantaneously. This ability not only leaves unsuspecting enemies perplexed, but often vulnerable to his attack. His favorite ploy is to lure an Autobot to chase him as he enters a railroad tunnel in train mode and then exits in shuttle mode. The Autobot is usually ill-prepared to battle the shuttle-mode Astrotrain and rarely knows whether two Decepticons or one confront him. But it is that particular moment when his opponent realizes his mistake that epecially delights Astrotrain. He truly lives for that moment and thrives on his foe's panic and fear. "It makes it all worthwhile," Astrotrain says gleefully. "That part I enjoy even better than destroying him afterwards!"

BLAST OFF

Blast Off
COMBATICON
SPACE WARRIOR
Removed from the type of close-quarters combat his fellow Combaticons engage in, Blast Off soars through the vast vacuum of outer space feeling literally and figuratively above the other Transformers. He exudes an aristocratic air, believing that the problems of others are too petty and foolish for him to be concerned with. He appears quite happy in his role, orbiting hundreds of miles away from his comrades. But his happiness is an act, a disguise he uses to hide his long-distance lonliness. His aloof and superior is a front that prevents the other Decepticons from knowing his true feelings. None of this interferes with his performance- From his perch high above, he is cruelly efficient at raining destruction down on the world below. Perhaps because of the remoteness of his targets, perhaps because that's just the way he is, Blast Off feels not the least trace of remorse about his actions.

BLITZWING

Blitzwing
TRIPLE CHANGER
GROUND & AIR COMMANDO
As a Triple Changer, Blitzwing's ability to rapidly transform from tank mode to jet fighter mode makes him one of the most lethally effective Decepticon warriors. Not only are foes confused by his talent, but rarely are they prepared to fight him in a second form after fighting him in the first one. And Blitzwing certainly relishes changing form. His favorite tactic is to dive at a target -living or otherwise- as a jet, change at the last moment to a tank, and then smash into the target just as he lands. This hardly ever fails to defeat a foe or amuse Blitzwing. He likes to think of himself as having a sense of humor, although the things that make him laugh are typically cruel and harmful to others. He's loud-mouthed, belligerent and brash- wonderful qualities for a commando, terrible for all those who have to be around him.

BOMBSHELL

Bombshell
INSECTICON
PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE
Whether it refers to a robot's or a human's, Bombshell's credo carries the same awful meaning-once he sinks his stinger into someone's head, it's unlikely that that someone will ever think for himself again. His ability to turn foes into helpless accomplices makes this Insecticon one of Decepticon Leader Megatron's favorites. And Bombshell's interest in his victim doesn't end with mere control of his mind: Given his cruel sense of humor, Bombshell finds nothing more entertaining than to have his unwilling followers perform embarrassing and debasing acts, an amusement he eagerly shares with his evil comrades.

BONECRUSHER

Bonecrusher
CONSTRUCTICON
DEMOLITIONS
A rubble-strewn wasteland is Bonecrusher's idea of a beautiful landscape. Rare is the edifice that he feels is better off left standing. For him demolition is not merely a job- it is a performance. He loves to show off for his comrades. And Megatron realizes that the fear and terror sowed by this Constructicon's wild ways are bonus by-products that can only help the Decepticon conquest of Earth's resources. Bonecrusher's attitude about the world around him can best be summed up by his personal credo: "Everything is dust- or it will be when I get through with it!"

BRAWL

Brawl
COMBATICON
GROUND ASSAULT
Brawl is loud. Whether he's talking, shooting, or merely moving, he makes a lot of noise- grating, clanking, booming noise that irritates all those nearby, friend and foe alike. As unpleasant as that side of him is, there are other aspects of his personality that his fellow Combaticons consider even worse. He has a hair trigger temper and expresses his frequent anger with a savage fury truly terrible to behold. But, at least this seething rage that drives him, that makes him so unpleasant to be with also makes him a terrifyingly effective warrior. He makes no secret of his blustering belligerence, the mere sound of his approach is enough to unnerve Autobots. His actual arrival can paralyze them with mind-numbing fear. If he weren't always so angry, Brawl might find this pleasing.

BREAKDOWN

Breakdown
STUNTICON
SCOUT
When Breakdown is in his car mode, he thinks everyone else is staring at him. Not just living creatures such as other Transformers and humans, but humans' cars, stoplights... anything mechanical. Heavy traffic can be a particularly nerve-wracking experience for him. His circuits sometimes get so overloaded with worry that he even stalls out. The root of his concerns is that someone will see him for what he really is- an alien on a strange world. Despite his earthly disguise, Breakdown is constantly aware that underneath the hood he is different, and the thought haunts him. He'd be happier if he were a human-that way he feels he could just anonymously fit in anywhere and be in a better position to help conquer the Earth!

BRUTICUS

Bruticus
COMBATICON
WARRIOR
Bruticus is a model soldier. He performs his tasks with the cool, efficient, unquestioning manner that would bring an auditory module to auditory module smile to the face of any military commander. He knows how to follow orders. But he's not very good at taking initiative on his own. In fact, he's liable to stand around looking confused in the middle of a battle if nobody is there to tell him what to do. Still, he represents a fairly successful merging of the minds and personalities of the five Combaticons-Brawl, Swindle, Blast Off, Vortex and Onslaught-who comprise him. Whether he's just crushing an Autobot, or flattening a whole team of them, Bruticus just does his job. "I like him," says Decepticon Leader Megatron. "I wish I had a whole army of Bruticuses!" Luckily for the Autobots, he doesn't.

BUZZSAW

Buzzsaw
DECEPTICON
RECONNAISSANCE
Given his reputation for civility and sophistication, it might seem surprising at first that Buzzsaw is also one of the cruelest and most destructive of all Decepticons. But his two sides are not contradictory. He carries out his lethal tasks with the careful, reasoned approach of a fine artist with the cool precision of a neurosurgeon. He views every awful undertaking of his as the beginning of a new masterpiece. Every opponent he defeats marks a completion. And, like any true artist, nothing can sway him from his commitment to his deadly craft. He will only end his career when the Autobots are no more.

CYCLONUS

Cyclonus
DECEPTICON
SABOTEUR
Cyclonus is a huge and emotionless air-warrior metamorphosized from parts of dead Decepticons and remnants by Unicron. Like Galvatron, he derives vast resources of power and energy through Unicron and so can draw on strength in direct proportion to its need- always being able to become stronger than his opponents because of his access to the infinite reservoir of power that Unicron represents. A dedicated destructor, Cyclonus transforms into a gigantic multi-engine (and perhaps multi-wing) jet fighter. His firepower remains intact and is augmented by an incendiary bomb rack. Cyclonus is capable of an additional transformation, trimming his wings and tail back to assume a space-worthy rocket mode for interstellar pursuit and warfare. He has no personality, no interests other than conquests for the sake of Unicron, and no weakness.

DEAD END

Dead End
STUNTICON
WARRIOR
Sullen and fatalistic; Dead End sees little reason to continue the Aotobot-Decepticon War since all Transformers will eventually become inoperative anyway, even though it might take tens of thousands of years. Yet he spends more time keeping himself unmarred and shiny than any of his fellow Stunticons, an irony not lost upon Motormaster, who speculates that Dead wants to at least make sure he leaves a pretty wreck when he dies. This vanity leads to a lot of teasing and derision directed toward Dead End, which makes him feel worse. The only thing that can lift his spirits is blasting Autobots in battle, despite what he says about the pointlessness of it all. It seems he's too busy trying to save own life to get depressed about the possibility of losing it.

DEVASTATOR

Devastator
CONSTRUCTICON
WARRIOR
Awesome and terrifying, Devastator is the bizarre result of the six Constructicons- Scrapper, Scavenger, Bonecrusher, Hook, Long Haul and Mixmaster- joining together to form a single giant robot. He is ungainly and plodding, but he is also brutality in its purest form- a mechanical being whose sole purpose is to crush and destroy all that stands in its path. Devastator's mind is truly unique and his own, a melding together of his six components, but it also represents a compromise: his thoughts are limited to what the six can agree upon. The carrying out of any complex thoughts is severely impeded by their competing minds. Thus, Devastator is seemingly a creature of almost pure instinct- usually he acts before he can fully contemplate the consequences of his actions. These actions are usually simple, direct and extremely violent.

DIRGE

Dirge
DECEPTICON
WARRIOR
The chilling rumble of Dirge's engines as they approach from a distance is merely a prelude to the petrifying fear they induce in whomever is unlucky enough to hear as they pass overhead. And fear is something with which Dirge is quite familiar. He knows its all-consuming power; he understands how it can defeat even the mightiest of armies. He handles it with the same exacting proficiency that a concert pianist handles his piano's keys. Even his fellow Decepticons are put off a bit by his mournful, silent manner. Ramjet sums up everyone's feelings: "He gives me the creeps."

DIVEBOMB

Divebomb
PREDACON
AERIAL ASSAULT
Divebomb is like a kid at a candy shop-as he flies high overhead looking down at the ground below, he's so delighted with all the targets he has to choose from that he doesn't know where to begin. But it usually doesn't take long before he's gleefully shooting up the countryside. He's almost always in good spirits. The only thing that consistently ruffles his carbon-steel feathers is when he must surrender his own independence to combine with his fellow Predacons. He doesn't care for his fellow Predacons and detests sharing his components with them. When not engaged in combat, Divebomb usually busies himself in the building of his latest mechanest. Perched atop tall buildings or mountain peaks, these fanciful, fortified constructions are commonly composed of late model sports cars, wings of low flying jets and theater marquees. "I like to live comfortably," says Divebomb.

DRAG STRIP

Drag Strip
STUNTICON
WARRIOR
Drag Strip would rather be scrapped than lose. It doesn't matter what the competition is he's involved in- racing, fighting or even just trading insults- Drag Strip always aims to come out on top. Maybe it's because he needs to feel important, maybe-he enjoys humiliating others. It makes no difference; to beat an opponent, he'll pull the nastiest, most underhanded tricks. And he relishes his victories- he makes certain everyone within earshot knows about them. He loves to gloat. His fellow Stunticons feel he's a selfish, egotistical boor and would just as soon not have him around. Even Decepticon leader Megatron finds him insufferable and would sooner smelt him than talk to him. But he knows that as rotten as Drag Strip is for the Decepticons to be around, he's even worse company for the Autobots. And that, in Megatron's opinion, is a character trait to be much admired.

FRENZY

Frenzy
DECEPTICON
WARRIOR
With a fervor bordering on insanity, Frenzy plunges into conflict holding back not one molecule of his mechanical being. If it were necessary for him to breathe, war would be his oxygen. His lust for destruction knows no cause, no purpose- it only craves the fear it instills in others, the destruction it leaves in its wake. The other Decepticons appreciate Frenzy's boldness and enthusiasm- often this is enough to turn them from beating a hasty retreat to launching a new offensive. But given his single-minded devotion to violence, even they find him hard to deal with on a personal level. They have no problem letting him lead the way into battle.

GALVATRON

Galvatron
DECEPTICON
DECEPTICON CITY COMMANDER
Galvatron is the new name and identity for Megatron when his remains are metamorphosized by Unicron. Galvatron is Megatron to the ultimate degree, more evil, more powerful, and even less subject to emotion or decency. Through the powers of Unicron, Galvatron's own powers are augmented continuously so that his strength becomes so vast that his arrogance and confidence are boundless. As long as Unicron exists, Galvatron is invincible, but Galvatron's conceit and greed for dominance are so great he even plots against Unicron and hopes to retain his new might without him.

HEADSTRONG

Headstrong
PREDACON
GROUND ASSAULT
Headstrong doesn't listen to anybody, particularly his friends. He's so certain of himself that he doesn't acknowledge others' opinions. He's smug and arrogant, and believes that everyone would be better off if everyone minded his own business. Nothing can dissuade him once has decided upon a course of action, no matter how foolish that course appears to be. And once he begins something, his commitment is total and unwavering. Knowing that he is not as strong, intelligent or fearless as some of the other Predacons, Headstrong puts up his stubborn front as a shield to hide his deep-rooted insecurity. Still, he makes a formidable foe. The best way to attack him is not with weapons, but with psychology. Question his resolve and his abilities and he's more likely to collapse from the weight of his own nagging doubts than from a direct hit by a laser cannon.

HOOK

Hook
CONSTRUCTICON
SURGICAL ENGINEER
With the care and precision of a fine jeweler, Hook performs job with a skill unparalleled among all the Transformers. It doesn't matter whether he's reconnecting a damaged microchip or setting a two ton girder into place- in each case perfection is his final goal. Perhaps because he is a perfectionist he has a snobbish, supercilious attitude toward his fellow Constructicons, since he considers them generally crude and dim-witted. Although Hook may not win any popularity contests, there's no denying his superior abilities and the important role they have in the Decepticons' evil schemes.

KICKBACK

Kickback
INSECTICON
ESPIONAGE
Kickback is as charming a guy as you'll ever meet- but it is a charm rooted in an uncommonly cruel cleverness. The singular purpose of any friendship that this Insecticon begins is to dig up embarrassing facts about the other robot or person so that Kickback can influence his "friend" into doing his bidding. Humans are particularly susceptible to his seductive talents, but even Autobots have been known to succumb. The only thing Kickback enjoys more than recruiting these unwilling double agents is destroying them after he's exhausted their usefulness.

LASERBEAK

Laserbeak
DECEPTICON
INTERROGATION
Laserbeak takes a sadistic pleasure in hunting his prey. He prefers to play with them and slowly cripple them before moving in for the kill. On Cybertron, his appearance on the battlefront would usually mean the battle was over and the Decepticons had won. Then it would be his turn to pick off the straggling survivors. However, given a situation where the odds are against him, he is clearly not very brave. He'll run for safety. And he makes no attempt to hide this fear. If Decepticon Leader Megatron didn't have a special appreciation for Laserbeak's lethal style, he might have gotten rid of Laserbeak a long time ago.

LONG HAUL

Long Haul
CONSTRUCTICON
TRANSPORT
Long Haul isn't too thrilled with his unglamorous role in the Decepticon cause, but he understands its importance. Along with his fellow Constructicons, his function is to help build the massive energy-recovery installations that fuel the Decepticon onslaught. But he'd much prefer the excitement and glory that come with being a full-time warrior. And he knows better than to tell anyone of his secret desire- Megatron allows no dissent among the Decepticons' ranks.

MEGATRON

Megatron
DECEPTICON
COMMANDER
Love, compassion, mercy are words that have no meaning for Megatron. He has risen to the leadership of the Decepticons by a combination of brute strength, military cunning, ruthlessness, and terror. On Cybertron he was commanding general in charge of all military operations against the Autobots, who referred to him as "The Slag-Maker." It was a title of fear. A title of respect. A title Megatron relished. His banishment to Earth has only made him more bitter and more evil-minded, if that is possible. He aches to return to Cybertron and complete his mission of eradicating the Autobots. But while on Earth he is dedicated to eliminating those Autobots marooned here with him- and his plans go far beyond that. He realizes the Earth is one huge stockpile of metal and fuel resources and means to possess it all, with the aid of his fellow Decepticons. But his plans go even further, plans so grandiose even his fellow Decepticons are unaware: Megatron intends to enslave the entire human race. He allows no exceptions to his motto.

MENASOR

Menasor
STUNTICON
SUPER WARRIOR
A clanking, crushing terror that destroys all in his path, Menasor is the ultimate Decepticon weapon- or, in theory at least, should be. For underneath his thick-plated hide is a mind wracked by indecision and conflict. All his actions are the hard-fought results of this ongoing internal struggle. Menasor is designed to mesh the thoughts of his five Stunticon components- Motormaster, Dead End, Breakdown, Dragstrip, and Wildrider- into one single-minded destruction machine. But Motormaster is so thoroughly loathed by the other four that a mental rift develops within Menasor, giving him a violently unstable personality. Although he strives to perform his lethal duties, Menasor is sometimes too confused to do anything but haphazardly lash out at anything near him. At these times his hands reach for his head as he strains to clear his thoughts. Like a child throwing a tantrum he is at his most uncontrollable in this state- and also his most dangerous.

MIXMASTER

Mixmaster
CONSTRUCTICON
MATERIALS FABRICATION
Nothing is safe frown Mixmaster's seething cauldron. He will use any material necessary, whether unliving rock or living robot, in the making of some new material. He's been known to swallow up brand new limousines and reduce them to steel girders. And he performs his often grisly tasks with an evil, cackling glee that more befits a medieval witch than a Constructicon. The manner in which he creates new materials resembles an arcane ritual. Sometimes his fellow Decepticons wonder it perhaps Mixmaster hasn't a few microchips loose in his logic center, but they never question the results of his efforts.

MOTORMASTER

Motormaster
STUNTICON
STUNTICON LEADER
On the road, there is not a 16-ton hunk of rolling steel more cold and cruel than Motormaster. He shows mercy to none, least of all the unfortunate human drivers who happen to be sharing a highway with him. He'll brutally barrel through any traffic tie-up- he'd even roll over a baby carriage if it were in his way. He doesn't care- he knows nothing on wheels can survive a collision with him, except, perhaps, Autobot Leader Optimus Prime- and Motormaster would give you an argument on that. In fact, he looks forward to that very confrontaion so he can destroy Optimus and claim, without reservation, he is 'King of the Road." His Stunticon followers tremble before his commands, which he gives with a thundering voice that has the hollow, doom-laden tone of an echo from a bottomless well. They hate him, but they fear him too much to disobey him.

OCTANE

Octane
TRIPLE CHANGER
FUELER
Octane is a greedy, mean-spirited bully. Just to prove his own value, he's more than willing to let a fellow Decepticon slip painfully into inoperative status rather than offer him a drop of life-saving fuel. Only after his thirsty victim begs for fuel and praises Octane does Octane relent. He entertains himself by forcing vehicles to swerve off highways and commercial aircraft to abort landing approaches at airports. Crashes caused by him make him howl with laughter. He rebuffs requests by other Decepticons for him to end these wasteful, pointless actions. "I don't tell them how to have their fun," says Octane, "and they have no business telling me how to have mine."

ONSLAUGHT

Onslaught
COMBATICON
COMBATICON COMMANDER
Perfection is what Onslaught seeks. He believes the key to a mission's success lies in its planning, not in its execution. Thus, a perfect plan virtually guarantees a victory. Onslaught prefers the intellectual battlegrounds of the mind, where he can carefully devise and polish his sinister schemes, to the physical battlegrounds of the war, where events don't always unfold as expected. The four Combaticons under his command consider him aloof, even dreamy, but a brilliant tactician. Typically, Onslaught takes a backseat role in the assaults he plots, choosing to observe and re-evaluate his strategy rather than actually engage in combat. But, when stirred to action, he is a relentless, furious fighter, a terrifying contrast to the reserved thinker he is otherwise. This side of Onslaught's personality comes as a surprise to most of the other Decepticons, but those who understand him know his violent behavior is born out of frustration that his plan didnt work, forcing his involvement, rather than any suppressed lust for battle hidden in his character.

PREDAKING

Predaking
PREDACON
WARRIOR
Although he's a living machine whose thoughts are dictated by a mass of microprocessors and logic centers, all of Predaking's actions seemingly result from swift, savage, animal instinct. The five Predacons- Razorclaw, Rampage, Tantrum, Divebomb and Headstrong- who comprise Predaking blend together so smoothly, their circuits integrate so seamlessly, that Predaking moves wilh a fierce fluidity that belies his multi-body construction. He doesn't think, he only reacts. Whether his optical sensors detect the movement of a jumbo jet or an ant, his response is the same, virtually instantaneous and usually deadly. Only other Decepticons can escape being targeted by this hair-trigger horror, and even they worry that in some instance Predaking might mistake them for the enemy. But despite the ever-present danger he represents, the Decepticons value Predaking's abilities. As a warrior he has no equal; as a weapon he has no restraints. He is the closest thing to a perfect fighting machine the Decepticons have.

RAMJET

Ramjet
DECEPTICON
WARRIOR
Mid-air collisions are Ramjet's specialty. Whether the target is an opponent or not makes little difference- Ramjet will crash him or it just for the pure fun of it. He's built to survive such crashes, which is probably his greatest asset, since hardly anyone in flight would expect a jet fighter to purposely try to collide with him. These one-sided jousts make him a terror without equal in the skies. As he often boasts, "The skies are my castle, and I like to live alone."

RAMPAGE

Rampage
PREDACON
GUNNER
Like an elemental force of nature, Rampage barrels through life with unabated, uncontrolled fury. He has difficulty talking coherently for more the a few seconds at a time before he reverts to his "normal" state, violently lashing out at anything or anyone nearby, even fellow Predacons. Wherever he goes, he leaves a trail of wreckage that's as clear-cut as a black line on white paper. Although feared by his comrades, he's appreciated even more so for the unequaled ferocity with which he fights. Strangely enough, the only thing that has any calming effect on this mechanical menace is television. The more mindless the program, the more Rampage is entranced. He's been known to stare for hours at rock music videos.

RATBAT

Ratbat
DECEPTICON
FUEL SCOUT
Ratbat has no friends, only business partners. His sole allegiance is to himself. The other Decepticons are aware of this, but cooperate with and tolerate Ratbat because of his vital and unique talent for locating fuel resources. So much do they value his services that they are willing to overlook his behavioral extremes. Ratbat prefers to refuel himself by plunging his mecha-fangs into the grime-free gas lines of brand-new cars; the better made the car, the better its gas tastes to him. This usually destroys the cars. Although many of the other Decepticons find this practice wasteful and disgusting, they are more than willing to help Ratbat indulge in his horrible habit by procuring cars for him. Besides, they know if Ratbat can't satisfy his fuel lust In that way, he might select one of them. And given his importance, they are likely to let him.

RAVAGE

Ravage
DECEPTICON
SABOTEUR
Ravage operates best when he operates alone. He's a creature of the night and carries out most of his murderous mischief at that time. Often the other Decepticons have no idea where he is, but they know he's up to no good, so they don't mind. He is easily the craftiest of his comrades and is quick to devise deadly new strategies to be used against the Autobots. He tends to remain aloof from the others, but his deeds command their respect. He is an exceptionally efficient war machine.

RAZORCLAW

Razorclaw
PREDACON
PREDACON COMMANDER
Razorclaw is all business- cruel, brutal business. He despises waste in any form. He does not spend a second of his time or burn a drop of his fuel unless he's certain of tangible results. In his case, that typically takes the form of the smoking wreckage of an enemy Autobot. Those who are not familiar with him often mistake his long stretches of inactivity for laziness or disinterest. That can be a fatal mistake. For upon closer inspection, one would see that his eyes never close, that they are constantly shifting their gleaming steely stare, monitoring all they see. And when Razorclaw observes that the moment is just right, he explodes in furious, ferocious action. These belligerent bursts of energy usually only last a few seconds, but that's usually all it takes for Razorclaw to demolish an opponent. Afterwards, he returns his resting state- keeping his own counsel, watching all around him... and waiting for the next right moment to strike!

RUMBLE

Rumble
DECEPTICON
DEMOLITIONS
Rumble is your basic street punk. He compensates for his small size by always acting tough. And he is tough. Cross him and he'll punch your optic sensors out. He has a quick temper and a mean disposition. The other Decepticons try to keep their distance. Yet, this unpleasant, swaggering little hoodlum is one of Megatron's favorites. Rumble follows orders blindly and hungrily; he always waits impatiently for Megatron's next assignment. A good time for Rumble is shaking a building into a heap of rubble. "I love the sight of crumbling bricks," he says.

RUNABOUT

Runabout
BATTLECHARGER
SHOCK TROOPER
Runabout likes to watch things blow up; the bigger the explosion, the more he enjoys it. If he's not busy hunting Autobots, he'll pass his free time using parked cars for target practice or igniting fuel pumps at a gas station. A good-sized fireball never fails to bring a mischievous smile to his face. Seemingly driven by an unending supply of evil energy, he avoids even the briefest lulls in activity as if he's terrified that boredom might fatally infect him. As a Battlecharger, Runabout gets more than enough opportunity to stay busy, but he worries about what he'll do with himself after he finishes blowing up all the Autobots, cars, and gas stations on Earth. He calculates at the rate he's going he'll have to find a new sport within two years.

RUNAMUCK

Runamuck
BATTLECHARGER
SHOCK TROOPER
Cackling like a mechanical madman as he streaks down the road, Runamuck is a tumbling, twirling two-lane terror. He shows no regard for drivers sharing the highways with him. His freewheeling, frenzied approach invariably sends them scattering like leaves before a hurricane's winds. Spreading fear is his favorite pastime. But there's another, more sensitive side to Runamuck, although he expresses it in a most peculiar fashion: he's fascinated with Earth's junkyards. He can spend hours staring at one rusting wreck after another. In his own twisted way, Runamuck places the same value on these auto-graveyards as humans do art museums. His fellow Battlecharger, Runabout, attributes Runamuck's characteristic soft spot to "one quick-change too many snapping some cerebro-circuits." Considering Runamuck's personality, that's a diagnosis hard argue with.

SCAVENGER

Scavenger
CONSTRUCTICON
MINING & SALVAGE
Scavenger is driven by a manic urge to find things of value in a desperate attempt to prove his worth to his comrades, particularly his fellow Constructicons. And it makes no difference to him whether he has to dig up a hillside or someone's backyard- he could care less about personal property- in order to accomplish his goal. But more often than not, what he brings back is useless junk, which only reinforces his own image of uselessness to the others. Decepticon Leader Megatron has gravely noted that, "such behavior would be charming in a puppyoid, but ill-becomes a Decepticon warrior." It is only because Scavenger's unique abilities sometimes prove to be of vital importance that Megatron tolerates his continuing existence.

SCOURGE

Scourge
DECEPTICON
SWEEP LEADER
Scourge is the most fearsome and implacable hunter-destroyer created by Unicron from the wreckage of dead Decepticons. Scourge is leader of "The Sweeps," a specially created wolf pack of tracker-terminators designed by Unicron to hunt down and eradicate Autobots and their human allies.

SCRAPPER

Scrapper
CONSTRUCTICON
ENGINEER
Scrapper is a wizard at designing fortresses and energy production plants for the Decepticons. Disguising his creations to blend unnoticed into the surrounding alien human landscapes comes almost as easily to him. He modestly shrugs off the acclaim these talents inspire from his comrades. After all, he feels he is just fulfilling the requirements of his job. But overcoming an enemy Autobot and secreting his body in the foundation or structural skeleton of one of his buildings is another story. It is in such cases that Scrapper exhibits his true malevolent genius and relishes the admiration and praise it garners. Megatron considers him the most valuable of the Constructicons.

SHOCKWAVE

Shockwave
DECEPTICON
MILITARY OPERATIONS COMMANDER
Of all the Decepticons, Shockwave's method of operation is most characterized by the cold, brutal efficiency one would expect of a purely mechanical being. He enters every battle not with the bloodlust of his comrades, but with a scientist's approach to solving a problem. The problem is always the same: How can he use his abilities to most effectively eliminate the greatest number of his enemies, the Autobots? All too often he finds the answer. He seeks Megatron's position of supremacy over the Decepticons not because his ego demands it, but because his logic-circuits dictate it. He feels Megatron's all-consuming passion for conquest only hinders its achievement. With smug certainty Shockwave believes the reins of Decepticon power will inevitably be his- after all, he reasons, its only logical.

SHRAPNEL

Shrapnel
INSECTICON
ELECTRONIC WARFARE
The crackling sound of fused body parts short-circuiting is a sure sign of Shrapnel's work... and is music to his audio modules. In fact, whether he's scrambling microchips or shattering an armored torso, it is the noise of war, the scream of his victim that Shrapnel considers the true rewards of his work. He relishes the sounds much the same way an actor relishes applause. And he's not shy about showing his own evil glee- the piercing battle cry of this loathsome Insecticon can be heard up to 8 miles away.

SKYWARP

Skywarp
DECEPTICON
WARRIOR
Skywarp is the sneakiest of the Decepticons. On Cybertron he was known to appear out of nowhere in the middle of peaceful Autobot villages to rain terror and destruction upon them, if the mood hit him. He'll even use his teleportation powers to play a prank on a fellow Decepticon. Everyone enjoys this except the butt of his joke since Skywarp's sense of humor tends to be rather cruel and physically abusive. Skywarp isn't too smart and would be totally useless without the supervision of Megatron.

SOUNDWAVE

Soundwave
DECEPTICON
COMMUNICATIONS
It is said that Soundwave can hear a fly sneeze. It is also said that beneath his smooth-talking, affable surface beats the generator coil of a blackmailer. Those who know these two facts about him are very careful about what they say within earshot of him. Soundwave is the ultimate opportunist and will use anything he can to advance his status in the eyes of the Decepticon Leader Megatron. He doesn't worry about what others think of him because he knows he is nearly indispensable. Although they all despise him, the other Decepticons pretend to like him rather than get on his bad side. As Rumble explains, "Soundwave always has the last laugh."

STARSCREAM

Starscream
DECEPTICON
AEROSPACE COMMANDER
Starscream makes no secret of his ambition to overthrow Megatron as Decepticon Leader. He is ruthless, cold-blooded and cruel. In that sense the two rivals are very much alike. But he has a vain side that clearly distinguishes him. He considers himself the most sophisticated and handsome of the Decepticons. He exudes a high-class, urbane air that provides a certain irony to his murderous tendencies. He looks down at Megatron for being antiquated in his military strategy. Starscream believes the Decepticons should rely more on guile and speed rather than brute, destructive force to defeat the Autobots. Megatron overlooks the potential threat Starscream represents for one very good reason: Starscream is very good at his job.
