Monday July 14th, 2003Monday July 14th, 2003: Music Lipstick Traces, the long awaited Manic Street Preachers double CD album 'alternate history' is released, needless to say I make a special trip into town to make my purchase. Despite there only being a handful of tracks on the two CDs that I don't already own it still seems incredibly exciting -- but then I get in to work and actually listen to it... Most of the tracks aren't versions I already have, as I expected, so kudos to the Manics for not just sticking the b-sides from various singles together and making another £million or so. The only downer to the compilation is the minimal artwork accompanying even the limited edition release. |
