Monday June 9th, 2003Monday June 9th, 2003: Liverpool (Football) Liverpool have agreed a fee with Fulham for Steve Finnan, BBC Sport claim he'll "officially be a Liverpool player by July". Not quite the world class player I think Liverpool need to challenge for the title, but buying distinctly average players has got us this far hasn't it? Meanwhile ... Beckham's booked his kid into a school on the outskirts of Madrid apparently, I'd like to think he's on his way; if only to watch in amazement as Man Utd's fans turn on their hero, and no doubt fill the forums with "he wasn't that good anyway/he isn't our best player" drivel, despite insisting the opposite for the last half a decade or so. |
