Mega Man X

The quality of fan-made movies these days is getting quite scary.

“Five reasons a world without used games might not be so bad”

I followed the Penny Arcade Report to this “article” on Kotaku this morning. It’s the perfect example of why I removed Kotaku from GoogleReader earlier this year: Five reasons a world without used games might not be so bad It actually annoys me that people such as Jason Schreier get such a well [...]

Finally. Someone gets it!

Following on from the pleasant surprise that the next installment of Saint’s Row will drop the series’ traditional half-arsed multiplayer component come these quotes out of Bethesda that indicate that at least some studios realise that multiplayer isn’t the be-all-and-end-all of gaming. [People ask [...]

Gaming Recap – 11 July 2011

This was the week I finally beat Blue Dragon, taking my total game time to just under the 100 hour mark. Civ Rev proved a very addictive game clocking up over 32 hours gameplay in just 4 sessions in a little over 3 days; I simply could not put that game down at times -- the epitome of a "one more turn" game!

Boulderdash-XL: Extra Large Disappointment

I’m not sure whether I have unrealistic memories of Boulderdash on my C64, but one thing I know for certain is that Boulderdash-XL is a poor game; So poor in-fact that it makes me question how good the original actually was.  Released onto Xbox Live Marketplace yesterday I couldn’t wait to get my [...]

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

I've been spoiled with high quality single player experiences lately, rumours of the demise of single player gaming, it would seem, are grossly exaggerated. Although I wouldn't put Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions on the same level as Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys simple combo-based 3rd person action games, the kind of which were all the rage about a decade ago.

Free games at the end of the Rainbow (Six Vegas)

Since the early hours of Sunday morning my 360 has been running round in circles racking up XP. Which leaves me at a bit of a loose end so I finally logged back into PSN to pick up my two free games (Little Big Planet & WipEout HD/Fury).

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

If you enjoy story-driven single player games & science-fiction, you have to play this game.  I finished my first playthrough of the campaign in around 8 hours on hard difficulty, unlocking the majority of the achievements, without a guide. I’ve just completed my achievement clean up playthrough [...]

Great News for AC Revelations

Two major game changers were up next, with Meunier first explaining a new concept for AC multiplayer in “contested kills.” In so many words, rather than being stabbed by someone clearly running at you full speed, should you spot them in time and press the punch button, a “contested kill” will [...]

Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper

Sherlock Holmes: Now for the motive. Despite my almost complete lack of practical experience on the subject, I have a rather precise idea of the usefulness of a uterus and a vagina. Nonetheless, once they are separated from their usual envelope, I am more circumspect as to the uses one can make of them. What do you think, Watson?

Could not make it up if I tried 🙂
