Rafa on his way?
by Dave on May.31, 2004, under Football
Rick Parry claims Liverpool will be ready to unveil a new manager within two weeks, maybe it’s just co-incidence but Rafa Benitez would have to give 2 weeks written notice to leave his contract at Valencia should he be on his way to Anfield…
Poor Miss Emin
by Dave on May.30, 2004, under Personal
Tracey Emin turned up on Breakfast with Frost this morning saying how offended she is that the British public are laughing at her ‘loss’
“The majority of the British public have no regard or no respect to what me and my peers do, to the point that they laugh at a disaster like a fire. We really don’t need to laugh at the culture in our own country”
She fails to realise that ‘modern art’ has absolutely nothing to do with this country’s culture. Now if a gallery full of real art had gone up in smoke people would, I suspect, have been quite upset, one of the pieces of art’ lost to the world forever is a tent emblazoned with names, called “Everyone I have ever slept with 1963-95″ — need I say more?
Van Helsing
by Dave on May.06, 2004, under Film & TV
I went to see Van Helsing against my better judegment. I expected very little from the trailers I had seen, and amazingly the film was even worse than I had anticipated. It was a constant assault on my intelligence, I feel violated by the dumbed-downess of the entire film. Worse than The Hulk? Maybe so. But just how you can take a license like Van Helsing and fail to make a decent action film I will never know. If I hadn’t had a lift to Basingstoke I would have walked out of the cinema within 30 minutes of this travesty.
